finally break camp liao. 0k lemme reminice what happened for the past 4 days 3 nights.
saturday.
dragged my barang barangs to school at 8am(yawn) though many have reached and already started on the preparations (pitch flag + erection, water games etc). i din know why but i juz felt high and so blabbered alot of crap. so left for tuition at 12pm and tuition was kinda boring though. left early at 2pm and went parkway to meet the rest who were having lunch at KFC. so we went GIANT (np's departmental store always seem to be GIANT)and bought a trolley full of bread and jam and kaya and another trolley flooded with chips, sweets, cakes, etc all the tidbits we see as though we're going for a chalet instead of a camp =). weird stares were shot at us after seeing the wide array of stuff bought haha so then we took bus back to school to continue the preparations til clos to 7pm. then it's like another squad outing heh, we walked all the way to old airport road hawker centre to have dinner! merged 4 tables there and then dined there, as usual crapped as we ate then trekked back to school for final touch-up and a last meeting b4 camp starts the next day. we gathered in the soccer court for our own debrief, bonding session would be mre appropirate though, it was great though we rly acted like a squad 22 hearts 1 soul. wow i v dulan when some1 came into our bunk and said we were setting a bad example cuz we din separate into a girls and boys bunk -_- and demanded we break off which ultimately din have any conclusion, tch what a waste of time so i went to switch off the lights when he was talking halfway. nvm, ugh the night was torturous so noisy cannot sleep and ended up looking like a zombie the next day along with neck aches.
sunday.
day 1! wooo, forced to crawl out of bunk at like 5.15am? started to shift all logitics. cadets came at like 7am, took attendance etc. hike to ubin was tiring, it cld have gotten much worse if nt for me and xueli 'splash water; fang4 shui3' and grp 2 got first! lunched at noordin beach and then mass games, sad to say but mass games was kinda boring o0ps. got back to school at abt 5+ close to 6pm, then i went to buy dinner for ncos and it was nightwalk after dinner. nightwalk was uh, quite fun yea but being enveloped in solitude and darkness is not a positive feeling ._. try spending 4hrs in 3rd floor hall gallery alone and with lights off + the door next to me is spoilt means only can close cannot open. nightwalk ended at abt 1+ and then sentry between 4am-6am, i need sleep!
monday.
basically it was a day full of games. water games in the morning was zomg great; bombarding water balloons at ppl= song. haha, amazing race came after lunch and bian3 and the highlight of the day-campfire. campfire yea the ncos were high, sang, clapped, did the actions, danced blah blah enjoyed ourselves though the cadets weren't participative but who cares since the campfire was meant for us ncos mah, so only we being crazy and stuff is 0k though i'm still pissed at why are we the ncos arranged to sit at the back. there were 5 rows of benches, officers=first row, ex-ncos=2nd-4th row, left 1 row for us ncos somemore the fact is that there are mre ex-ncos who still haven sat which meant the last row might be for them too like how unfair is this. a campfire for ncos yet seating priority is not given to us and on top of that, none of the officers or higher auothorities seem to find it inappropriate, screw it. enough ranting but campfire seemed to brought us ncos closer tgether, i think it's the first time we're so united during a campfire, ok sec3s we were enthu la bo bian mah forced to lead the songs but this yr is not compulsory but we still sang and danced =). i'm happy the ncos are being united. after campfire was squad debrief which got me damn upset again.
maybe we expected too much from them. during activity, they weren't active; they were shy; they were rude sometimes. we din really mind, we tried to make them like activites by cracking jokes though not all of them were funny, we lessened drilling time, we tried to incoporate mre of campcraft, songs and RT. apparently, our efforts din pay off, what kind of replies do we get during the camp. firstly, 6 absentees with only 2 got valid reasons. we shared our experience in np with them; how it has affected our lives etc so that they would feel more inquisitive towards np. they weren't appreciative, fine so we asked them for their thoughts and feelings on the camp. replies were answered back in a few words, a phrase or worse still a word with no elaboration. no doubt they were tired, but so are we, and the fact was the day 2 was much less strenous than day 1;games all day only, i dun think that's the kind of attitude and feedbacks we shld be getting. some yawned with their mouths wide open right in our faces, we ignored it cuz we knew camp was tiring for us too when we were sec1s for it was something new, but not once not twice but many times. some closed their eyes while 'listening', how respectful and not to mention some with obvious attitude problem. the way some of them look at us, talk to us, choice of words and tone, their body language. i can say that the 5 of us have been v patient and lenient with them comparing how they are treated and how we were treated when we were sec1s, and even comparing them with their present seniors, they are lucky but they juz dun realize it. angry? a little but more of disappointment. they weren't concerned that we are leaving but rather abt the time and the fact that they have to wear the torturous full-u, i expected that for it's a fact we have only taken them for 1/2 yr; the bond might not be as strong but not even a word of concern abt us was asked; haiz, upsetting. nvm, at least i can say that i've tried mybest to nurture them, gd luck the next batch of ncos taking them.
today.
breakfast + a.maths 'retest'. con! it's not even a test can, it's merely a practice paper like wth. waste my time going, i rather go area cleaning. there was an informal parade when we came back. giving out of sgt ranks + announcement of SI rank awardees. dang! there goes my 1 pt, ahhh i nid cca pts! haha but no doubt it's true vincent and pamela are mre outstanding than me, so gotta accept the fact my 1pt fly away ._. congratz to both! so went KFC after camp and back home, a short slp and here i am.
camp was great in a sense it brought the nco squad mre closer tgether. besides, the tension between some of us was broken during the camp too. though there's this distance between us, but at least we are still talking to each other now and joking. actually got alot mre to type buy lazy, think wordy enuff le.
